Air Source Heat Pumps

Air source heat pumps absorb heat from the outside to heat buildings. There are two types of air-source heating systems:

1. Air-to-air systems provide warm air, which is circulated to heat the building.

2. Air-to-water, heat water to provide heating to a building through radiators or an under floor system.

Ecodan is one of the most advanced, efficient heating systems avaliable today, adhering to The Code for Sustainable Homes and reducing CO2 emissions by up to 50%.

Ecodan Heat Pumps are ideal for use in a variety of houses, their carefully developed control system is designed to work perfectly to provide hot water to either traditional radiators or under floor heating systems.

Traditionally heat pumps have been seen as only suitable for under floor heating, however, with the advanced control system of Ecodan and it’s ability to provide optimum variable flow temperature control, radiators can now be easily provided with the hot water they need and prove to be a very efficient option.

The Performance Characteristics Of Ecodan:

  • Ecodan: Is an Air-to-water air source heating system, providing domestic space heating and hot water.
  • Output: Every 1KW of input energy is converted into an average of 3.6KW of output energy/heat, making it three times as efficient as conventional boilers.
  • Low Starting Current: Ecodan operates on a standard single phase power supply and has a very low starting current of 5 amps, which reduces power requirement further still.
  • Low Noise Levels: The Ecodan range offers some of the lowest noise levels avaliable.
  • Easy To Install: The heat pump is a self contained unit, requiring only water & single phase electric connections.
  • Highest Efficiency: Ecodan is perfectly designed to operate at optimum performance throughout the year. Ecodan can generate hot water up to 60 degrees C, it also has the ability to operate in the unlikley event of the outside temperature plummeting to -15 degrees C.
